Aspects Introduces New Tools
29 June 2007
Aspects has released Testing Tools 6.0.0. This release introduces three entirely new tools: Aspects Card Profiler, Aspects Card Verifier and Aspects Viewer. 6.0.0 also introduces a number of other improvements, notably improved support for Microsoft Vista.
Aspects Viewer is free of charge, Card Profiler and Card Verifier are licensed in the same way as Aspects' other tools.
Share Data and Results
Aspects Viewer lets users who do not have access to Aspects' tools view session data and test certificates in the same easy-to-interpret way that Aspects users can. Translated session data from PowerMonitor, and test certificates from the card and handset testing tools can be exported as EVF files. Aspects Viewer opens EVF files and displays them visually.
Aspects Viewer is provided free of charge. Download it now.
Dedicated Card Profiler
Aspects Card Profiler extracts and improves on the card profiling functionality that already exists in PowerScript. It is a dedicated tool for creating card profiles (by writing one based on a template or by scanning a card) and comparing the profile on a card to one selected in Card Profiler. The Scan Card and Profile Card wizards will be familiar to users who have worked with PowerScript before. The new profile templates makes creating a profile easier than ever before.

Simple Card Verification
Aspects Card Verifier provides a compact and task-focused environment for running test suites. The functionality is similar to that already in PowerScript but simplifies the process.
Card Verifier loads and runs tests and exports the results. To write or edit tests and create bespoke test suites, use PowerScript.

Improved Microsoft Vista Support
Testing Tools release 6.0.0 is fully tested on Microsoft Vista. To further improve compatibility with the relatively new operating system, Aspects has implemented Java 6.0 in this release.
The look and feel of all tools has been improved. The tools are further updated to conform to the latest ETSI and 3GPP specifications.
Toolkit Command Filtering in PowerMonitor
PowerMonitor now has an option for displaying only toolkit commands in the session data. This makes separating out and following the interactive commands in a session much easier.
